Teddy Bear Music!

Filed under: Publicity — sycross @ 10:19 pm

I have some exciting news for you all!

Last month, I was contacted by award-winning composer Aleksandar Dimitrijevic. Alex works with Immediate Music (one of America’s biggest trailer music production houses), and has scored dozens of trailers for block-buster films, such as X-men Origins and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Alex Dimitrijevic decided that he wanted to begin his own trailer music production company, and thus Teddy Bear Music was born. Teddy Bear Music’s first CD “Smash the Screen” features mostly tracks by Aleksandar, but there are also a few other composers whose songs have been included. I am one of those lucky few who Alex wanted to include in the project!

Remixed versions of my songs “Life” and “Forsaken” are featured on this CD, and the CD is currently making it’s way into the hands of trailer production houses! With any luck, this could be the big break for my music career :) .

I will keep you guys updated about anything new that happens with my two tracks on the CD. Hopefully they get licensed by some trailer houses!

I am extraordinarily grateful to Aleksandar Dimitrijevic for taking interest in my music. Seeing myself on the composers page of Teddy Bear Music was really an honor! I’d also like to thank Trailer Music News for posting the article which allowed Alex to find my music.

Store Update

Filed under: Site Updates — sycross @ 8:29 pm

Well, I’ve gotten some suggestions to raise the bitrate of the Mp3s which I offer from my order page, so I decided I would do so. The Mp3′s are now all 256 kbps, rather than the previous 192 kbps. The new bitrate matches the quality of premium iTunes downloads.

I’ve also made some minor upgrades to the shopping cart. In response to some inquiries about international shipping prices, I’ve added a new feature in which the shopping cart can now calculate shipping prices based on location and number of CDs ordered. This is a lot more accurate than my previous system, which only charged a flat rate shipping price of $2, regardless if you were ordering 20 CDs from half-way across the world.

As you can see, I always try to respond to user feedback. So if you guys have any other complaints or suggestions, just let me know!

Free song!

Filed under: Miscellaneous — sycross @ 4:54 pm

My free stuff page was looking a little empty, so I decided to add something. You are now able to download a free Mp3 of “Edge” (the entire song)!

This is my way of saying thanks to everyone who has listened to my music, and I may be releasing more free songs in the future.

Of course, if you enjoy the song, please recommend it to your friends! It would help me out tremendously. Also, a higher quality version of the mp3 is available from the order page on my site for just a dollar.

Enjoy!

CDs have arrived!

Filed under: Miscellaneous — sycross @ 5:09 pm

Just a very quick update:

My CDs arrived on September 1st, as scheduled. They look great, and I am very excited to begin selling them! If you enjoy my music, please consider buying a copy at my order page.

A lot of people have asked me if my music is on iTunes or Amazon. Unfortunately, my songs are not yet listed on those sites. However, I am working on getting my music into those stores as soon as possible.

CDs have shipped

Well, I just got word from my manufacturer that the 100 CDs I ordered have shipped! They should be arriving on Wednesday, and I can’t wait to get my hands on them.

I’ve also bought some corrugated CD shipping boxes to ensure that anyone who orders online will receive their CD in good condition.

Other random updates:
-Added an option on the order page to buy all of the album’s mp3s in one click.
-Created a new image for the homepage. Mostly to help emphasize the release of my album.
-Credit cards are now accepted as a payment method. Previously, I had only the ability to accept paypal payments.

That’s about it for now. Stay tuned for more news.

Final Horizon: My debut album!

Filed under: New songs — sycross @ 11:26 am

So, after a two-year-long journey with music, I have finally completed my first album! Honestly, I’m amazed at how far I’ve come in such a short amount of time.

There are 12 songs featured on this album: Dawn, Edge, Skyline, Forsaken, Breathe, Starlight Grace, Midnight, Everscape, When the Fighting Stops, Salvation Forest, Life, Seven Years to Come.

And here is a sample of the album art:

Now that the album is done, I will mostly be focused on the marketing aspect of my music for a while. Of course, I’ll still be working on new songs, but that will be a lesser priority while I promote the album release.

If you enjoy my music, please seriously consider buying a copy of the album. It’s my first business endeavor as a musician, and I’ve put some serious time/effort/money into getting to this point.

Thanks to everyone who has been keeping up with my updates. Your support is greatly appreciated.
